MANILA, Philippines—Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, who are both seeking reelection in 2010, filed on Monday their respective certificates of candidacy at the Comelec office in Arroceros, Manila.

They were accompanied by their supporters and candidates for councilors.

Before filing their CoCs, Lim, Moreno and other city officials held a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bonifacio Shrine near the Manila City Hall to pay tribute to Andres Bonifacio, the revolutionary hero who founded the Katipunan, the group that spearheaded the fight for Philippine independence in 1896.
