EDU B. Manzano is an Ilonggo—like me. His shows, he being a very good television host, are watched by the ‘‘Ilonggo nation” with pride, more so when he speaks our language from time to time.

We are appalled, however, at the news that he has decided to be the running mate of Gibo Teodoro, Malacañang’s candidate. This is not to underestimate Manzano, but we are sure that he doesn’t have what it takes to occupy the office, a heartbeat away from the presidency.

To put it bluntly, the Lakas-Kampi-CMD party is scraping the bottom of a very shallow barrel. In an interview with Cheche Lazaro on ANC, it was apparent that his grasp of national issues leaves much to be desired.

For sure, Manzano is not dumb, but his decision to run for vice president is idiotic.
